No one ever posts here. Why? Where is everyone?!

Well, I found a free audiobook that I wanted to share. I don't have the exact link (sorry) but it's at http://www.audible.com/logo and there's a button or something you can press that says download or something like that.

Anyway, it's from David Sedaris --- if you haven't heard of him, you have to download that short story because he is literally like pee your pants funny. I'm not just saying that either. I may or may not have had an accident. Hahaha. Okay, I didn't but his books are GREAT. Especially the audiobooks because he has such a beautiful reading voice. :)

I also like Nicholas Sparks which I think they have on there too.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for something to read this summer, preferably fantasy cuz I need something to hold me over till frickin George R.R. Martin finishes the next installment of ASOIAF! I never liked fantasy before but since reading ASOIAF, GRRM has set the bar way too high for me. The politcal intrigue and low-key fantasy elements are what I love most about the books. I just finished reading Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder and found the protagonist to be a blatant Mary-Sue. I can't believe a reviewer on Amazon compared it to ASOIAF. Not even close. Does anyone have suggestions? Please not something where there is a Chosen One who is destined to have super magical powers to save the world, blah, blah because that's just...ew.

The basics. I suppose. Jul. 13th, 2008 @ 06:11 pm

ATTENTION Jul. 11th, 2008 @ 02:27 pm

Anyone here studied A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen? Yes, I know it's not strictly a book, but a play. I'm studying it for literature at school and just wanted to hear people's thoughts on it because I really enjoyed reading through it in class.

So let me know!

Book Signing Apr. 14th, 2008 @ 10:46 am
Good morning.

I'm joining this community as an author as well as a reader; I like to know what readers think.

If anyone here is going to be in the Boston area this coming Saturday (April 19), I'll be signing my Sherlock Holmes pastiche, "Sherlock Holmes and the Plague of Dracula" at Pandemonium Books on Pleasant Street in Cambridge.

The short version is that I reformed Bram Stoker's "Dracula" as it might have been written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Reviews have generally been favorable.

Full details can be found at www.pandemoniumbooks.com, and, of course, my own LJ.

The Basics:
1. Name: Danielle Pollack.
2. Age: 19 years young.
3. Location: Manitou Springs, Colorado.

2. Movie: Three-way tossup between No Country for Old Men, Buffalo '66, and the Rules of Attraction.
3. Book: A Confederacy of Dunces.
4. Type of (or types) of book(s): There's no specific genre of book that I prefer, but I just love books featuring mischievous characters.
5. Color: Clear.
6. Season: Fall.
7. Food: Tofu Pad Thai.
8. Drink: Coffee, heavy cream, no sugar.

Quick question: Does anybody know of an IMDB-esque book discussion forum?

But enough about you, what about me?
Current Music: Van Morrison.
